Announcing the Winners of the NAHR Ram Charan HR Essay Contest

11/1/2012—The winners of the 2012 NAHR Ram Charan HR Essay Contest were announced on November 1, 2012.

First Place: Rick Terrell, Pennsylvania State University
Second Place (tie): Chris Coultas, University of Central Florida
Second Place (tie): Asley Myers, ILR School, Cornell University

The essay contest is designed to stimulate interest in the HR profession as a career for the best talent in the global education system and to further advance the NAHR Fellows’ knowledge and understanding in particular areas of interest.

This year’s topic, "How can organizations recapture the hearts and minds of employees to gain the highest commitment and performance given the restructuring focus of the past several years", generated essays from undergraduate and graduate students from many countries. Prizes of $20,000 for first place, $10,000 for second place, and $5,000 for third place were awarded. Contest winners will also receive an expense-paid trip to New York City to attend the NAHR Annual Meeting and Installation of New Fellows Ceremony.

The NAHR Ram Charan HR Essay Contest has been made possible by a generous donation to the NAHR Foundation from NAHR Distinguished Fellow Ram Charan, a world-renowned author, speaker, and business advisor. The next essay contest topic will be announced in March 2013.
