Announcing the Winners of the 2013 NAHR Ram Charan HR Essay Contest

11/7/2013—The winners of the 2013 NAHR Ram Charan HR Essay Contest were announced on November 7, 2013.

First Place: Tiffany Scheff and Josie Trine, ILR School, Cornell University
Second Place: Joseph Redlitz, Rutgers University
Third Place: Indranil Dey, Asian Institute of Management, Philippines

The essay contest is designed to stimulate interest in the HR profession as a career for the best talent in the global education system and to further advance the NAHR Fellows’ knowledge and understanding in particular areas of interest.

This year’s topic, "How are electronic technology and social media affecting: The employment relationship (from hiring to engagement to retention) between employers and employees; The roles, responsibilities and contributions of human resources organizations?", generated essays from undergraduate and graduate students from many countries. Prizes of $20,000 for first place, $10,000 for second place, and $5,000 for third place were awarded. Contest winners also received an expense-paid trip to New York City to attend the NAHR Annual Meeting and Installation of New Fellows Ceremony.
